Pakistan Floods Appeal

stephenweil September 1st, 2010

SDIA wish us to pass on the following message on their behalf:

‘Many Subud members are asking how best to help the flood victims of Pakistan.
As you know, it is estimated that as many as 20 million may be affected by the floods in the regions of North West Frontier Province, Punjab and Sindh.  An estimated 4 million are homeless and the rainy season will continue into September.  Since SDIA does not have any strong member organisations working in Pakistan to take an active role in the relief effort, we are recommending that those of you who feel moved to give do so through the recognised channels.’

Susila Dharma (Britain) would like to recommend that you send a donation through the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), who are co-ordinating fund-raising efforts on behalf of the major charities in Britain.  You can donate in any of the following ways:

Creative Hub at work!

Susila Dharma (Britain) held their AGM at the Subud Britain National Congress in Great Malvern on Saturday 7th August 2010.  There was the launch of the joint Subud Britain, Susila Dharma (Britain) SICA, SYA and SES appeal for funds for the Paula Hallett Trust for Wisma Mulia.  The goal is to raise £90,000 in the next two years and £1,400 was raised during the Congress period.  Kezia Hoffman (a young Subud member who runs a project called ‘Creative Hub’ for disadvantaged young people in Winchester ran a workshop which involved young people creating grafitti canvases.  Later Kezia gave a presentation about her work to Congress delegates.
